Outstanding Tiny Desk AI FAQ

How much does one video cost?

You pay per video, once: $9.99 for 1 video, $24.99 for 3 videos ($8.33 each) or $69.99 for 10 videos ($7.00 each). These are Standard 720p prices for a 15-second video; one HD 1080p video is $24.99. There’s no subscription, videos you buy never expire, and prices include tax.

Is it free? How much does it cost?

The full video isn’t free: a 15-second Standard 720p video starts at $9.99, and HD 1080p starts at $24.99. Sign in with Google and you can try one free preview first: a short clip with a watermark that you can watch but not download, one per account. You pay once, videos you buy never expire, prices include tax, and failed videos go back to your balance.

Why choose Outstanding Tiny Desk AI over other Tiny Desk AI generators?

It’s made for this one trend, so there’s no prompt to write and no editing: you get the same 4 shots as the viral clip, in the same order. You and a friend can join at the same price, as the lead singer and the tambourine singer. Each video is a 15-second 9:16 MP4 with AI-generated sound, plus a free silent copy, and no added watermark, from $7.00 per video with a 10-pack in Standard 720p, or in HD 1080p. A video is usually ready in about 13 minutes. You get a free 4-second preview of your video before you pay. It runs in your phone’s browser with no app, and if a video fails, it goes back to your balance.

Is this an official app?

No. Outstanding Tiny Desk AI is an independent, fan-made tool. It isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the artists, creators or labels behind any trend, or by TikTok.

How do I make one?

Three steps: add your photos, make the video, then download the MP4. Signed in with Google? You can try one free preview with a watermark first. The full video is ready in about 13 minutes.

How long does it take?

About 13 minutes. We show an estimate before you start, and you can leave the page: we email you when it’s ready.

Does the video have sound?

Yes. The video comes with AI-generated sound.

Can I use photos of celebrities or other people?

Yes, if they agreed. The same goes for celebrities: you can’t use someone’s face to impersonate them without their consent, and don’t present a generated video as a real performance.

What if it doesn’t look right?

Use a sharp, front-facing photo in good light, with one person per photo and the face clearly visible. The free preview shows the faces first, but the full video is made again from the same photos, so faces and details can differ from the preview. Still not right? Email support@tinydeskai.tv with your order number.

Which photos work best?

Front-facing, good light, one person per photo, no sunglasses, upper body visible. Avoid group shots, screenshots and heavy filters.

Is it safe to upload my photo?

Photos are deleted 60 days after upload, or 7 days after upload if you don’t use them to make a video. We never train AI models on them and don’t sell your personal information. You can delete them sooner from My videos. Privacy Policy →

What song is in the Outstanding Tiny Desk meme?

“Outstanding” by The Gap Band, from 1982, sung live by the band’s lead singer, Charlie Wilson, at his 2023 NPR Tiny Desk concert. The videos we make come with AI-generated sound.

How can I make an AI Tiny Desk concert video with the original Outstanding music?

Post the silent copy and add “Outstanding” from TikTok’s or Instagram’s music library. Every video comes with AI-generated sound, and you also get a silent copy at no extra cost.

Is the Outstanding Tiny Desk real?

The 2023 performance is real; the meme clips aren’t. Charlie Wilson really sang “Outstanding” at NPR’s Tiny Desk, in a video NPR posted on June 5, 2023. The versions with friends or anyone else in the band are AI remakes of that performance.

Can I make it with my friends?

Yes. Put your photo in the lead singer spot and a friend’s photo in the tambourine singer spot. You need at least one photo; the sax player, the two back-row singers and any spot without a photo stay as in the original clip. One or two photos cost the same.

Is this affiliated with NPR or Tiny Desk?

No. This is an independent fan-made tool. It isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by NPR, Tiny Desk, Charlie Wilson or The Gap Band. Tiny Desk is a registered trademark of NPR, and we use the name only to describe the meme.
